Gulf and Arab Extraordinary Summit on Gaza and Palestine
The Emergency Summit on Gaza Strip, which
concluded today, condemned Israel with strong terms over its
aggression on Gaza Strip. It
called for immediate cessation of the Israeli aggression on the
Palestinian people in Gaza. In its final communiqué the summit
held Israel accountable for the crimes and genocide committed
in Gaza. It called for suing
Israel for those crimes. The summit also called for lifting the
siege on Gaza and opening of the crossing points, as well as
lifting of the restrictions on people, goods and properties.
It called on the international community to provide urgent aid
to the Palestinian people in Gaza and protect the international
organisations to discharge their humanitarian duties in Gaza

The summit called for setting up a reconstruction fund for Gaza.
It called for reconciliation among the Palestinian factions.
The summit urged the Arab countries to suspend the Arab Peace
Initiative. It hailed the attitudes of Qatar and Mauritania for
freezing their political and economic relations with Israel.
The summit
welcomed the call of Senegalese President Abdoulaye Wade to hold
an emergency meeting of the Organisation of Islamic Conference
(OIC). Ahmed bin Abdullah Al Mohamoud, Qatari State Minister for
Foreign Affairs read the final communiqu . These resolutions
will be
submitted to the Kuwaiti Economic Summit, which will address
the Gaza issue.

Gaza emergency summit for supporting the Palestinian people
demanded Friday immediate cessation of all forms of Israeli aggression
on the Gaza Strip, unconditional withdrawal of the occupation
forces, lifting the blockade, last and immediate opening of crossing
points to facilitate the entry of individuals and humanitarian
aid. The summit, in its final statement, called for holding Israel
international criminal responsibility according to the international
law for committing acts of aggression, war crimes and the genocide
in addition to the civil responsibility for paying compensations.

Representative from Jordan: aligning himself with statements
made on behalf of the Arab States, Organization of Islamic Conference
and the Non-Aligned Movement, denounced the Israeli aggression
that had caused thousands of civilian victims. He called on the
international community to compel Israel to implement resolution
1860 (2009), end its policy of collective punishment, open the
crossings and address the catastrophic suffering caused by its
military operations, which violated the Fourth Geneva Convention,
the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, and all relevant human
rights instruments.

The Gaza Emergency Summit strongly condemned Israel for its
savage aggression and its continuation against the Gaza Strip
and called upon Israel to cease immediately all forms of aggression
in the Gaza Strip and the immediate, unconditional and comprehensive
withdrawal of the occupation forces. The Summit held Israel responsible,
under international criminal responsibility, for committing aggression,
war crimes and genocide, and under civil responsibility for compensation,
and stressed their resolve to pursue Israel and its officials
through international and national jurisdictions in implementation
of this responsibility, and providing the support need for that
end.

Prince Saud Al-Faisal, the Foreign Minister
said that among the most important achievements of the Extraordinary
Summit held in Riyadh is the restoration of cohesion in the Gulf
rank, following-up the crisis that has befallen the Palestinian
people in Gaza, and building up a climate of understanding and
harmony. He hoped that will be reflected in Kuwait Summit. In
a press conference held here last night and attended by the Minister
of Culture and Information Iyad bin Amin Madani and
Secretary General of Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Hamad Al-Atiyyah,

In materialisation of President Zine el Abidine Ben Ali's attachment
that Tunisia makes its active contribution to Arab efforts meant
to reach the immediate end of the Israeli offensive on the Gaza
Strip, and as instructed by the Head of State, Foreign Minister
Abdelwaheb Abdallah led the Tunisian delegation in Arab Foreign
Ministers' extraordinary meeting held, on Friday, in Kuwait City
and devoted to look at means that would help Arab action in the
face of continuing Israeli assault on the Gaza Strip and prepare

The emergency summit on Gaza called on Arab countries to suspend
the so-called Arab initiative. Also the summit, in its final
communiqué in
the Qatari capital on Friday, called on Arab countries to end
all forms
of normalization with the Israelis, including diplomatic and
economic relations. In this regard, the summit welcomed decision
taken by Mauritania and Qatar to freeze relations with the Israelis,
which was announced
on Friday. The summit called for ending all forms of Israeli
aggression against the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip,
immediate, full and unconditional withdrawal of Israeli forces
from Gaza and opening crossings.
