Russia: Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Vladimir Titov's Consultation with Bulgarian Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Milen Keremedchiev

On July 10, a Russian-Bulgarian inter-MFA consultation at the level of Deputy Foreign Ministers Vladimir Titov of Russia and Milen Keremedchiev of Bulgaria was held in Moscow.

Topical issues in bilateral cooperation were discussed, with emphasis laid on the realization of the accords reached during the summit meeting in Sofia in January 2008. The mutual interest was reaffirmed in promoting large-scale joint economic projects, primary in the area of energy – the construction of the Belene Nuclear Power Plant, Burgas-Alexandroupolis Oil Pipeline and the Southern Stream Gas Pipeline. Agreement was reached on stepping up the work to streamline the juridical base of bilateral relations.

In relation to the difficulties that arose in obtaining Bulgarian visas by Russian citizens at the Embassy of Bulgaria in Moscow, Keremedchiev informed Titov of the action taken to remedy the situation.

A thorough exchange of views took place on European security issues and Balkan regional problems, Black Sea cooperation in particular.
