Russian-Gabonese Political Consultation

On July 10, a regular round of Russian-Gabonese political consultation took place in Moscow, involving respectively Alexander Saltanov, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, and Charles Essonghe, Director General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Cooperation, Francophonie and Regional Integration of the Gabonese Republic.

During the talks, an exchange of views was held on pressing global and African problems, on Russia's participation in tackling the socioeconomic tasks of Africa and in resolving conflicts on the continent, and on the development prospects of bilateral relations, including economic and trade cooperation.

The consultation participants noted the similarity of the positions held by their countries on topics discussed, agreeing to coordinate further their actions in international affairs, and reaffirmed the mutual interest in strengthening their partner ties.
